Where to Eat in Fort Wayne, IN
Austin & I (Sydney) went to Fort Wayne for our second wedding anniversary. We had such a wonderful time getting away and concentrating on just the two of us for a nice long weekend! Always up for a great road trip!
We wanted to share with you where to eat in Fort Wayne that we experienced on our getaway. Austin is as much of a foodie as Mom and I are! He loves trying new restaurants and foodie places with me. 🙂 This adds another reason to why we are a perfect couple. Food!
Hamilton Public House
Our first dinner stop was at the Hamilton Public House. The Hamilton Public House is located at 4910 N Clinton St, Fort Wayne, IN. What a neat restaurant with a great atmosphere! Perfect for date night!
We started with their top selling appetizer of Chips & Salsa. Both the tortilla chips and their salsa are made in house. These were so good! Austin is a guacamole lover and raved about their homemade guacamole!
For our main course, Austin ordered the Pot Roast Manhattan. He said it was absolutely delicious. He said that it is absolutely an “order again” entree. I had the chicken wings and fries. The chicken wings were as pretty to look at as they were delicious (something only a true “foodie” understands!). The sea salt and cracked pepper on top of the fries was a great touch!
Getting hungry yet? 🙂 No meal is complete without dessert, right? Hamilton Public House did not disappoint in this area either! We had their Amish Donut Bread Pudding. So good! You can literally see the gooey goodness!
Their outdoor patio area is perfect for alfresco dining. So tranquil and peaceful out here! It’s a great place to hang out and enjoy a drink or meal. The Hamilton Public House is close to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. This is the perfect place to have a meal beforehand if you are in the area for a concert or event at the coliseum. 🙂
Oley’s Pizza
Oley’s Pizza was another huge hit for us. As far as I am concerned, pizza should be a food group. If Mom can have a coffee food group and a chocolate food group, then I am having a pizza food group! I sooo love pizza! The amount of food Austin and I consumed this evening is down right embarrassing! When eating at Oley’s Pizza, one must pace themselves and plan on taking home a lot of leftovers.
We started with three different appetizers. I told you this was embarrassing! 🙂 Their Famous House Salad comes with iceberg & romaine lettuce, freshly grated cheese, bacon, onions, green peppers and is topped with their amazing house dressing.
Their Homemade Italian Meatballs were sent straight from heaven. Oh my gosh! They were almost too pretty to eat, once again a “foodie” thing. But eat them we did!
Their Garlic Knots finished off our appetizers. Being the bread lover that I am, let me tell you how absolutely divine these were! Look at these beauties! They came with a marinara and cheese dipping sauce. The Homemade Italian Meatballs and the Garlic Knots are their best selling appetizers. It is so easy to see why!
The embarrassment continues as we had not one, not two, but three entrees between the two of us. The Saccatino’s Italian Dinner is stuffed pasta purses topped with a spicy sauce and parmesan cheese. The Saccatino Italian Dinner comes with a dinner salad and two breadsticks.
Now for my absolute personal favorite part of this meal, the pizza!
Oley’s Pizza only uses the best 100% all-natural Wisconsin cheese. They use over 1,000 pounds of cheese a week! It is grated fresh in house daily. We had the Godfather on a double stuffed crust style pizza. It comes with tomato sauce, Italian sausage, steak, meatballs, roasted garlic, tomatoes, giardiniera and fresh mozzarella. Pictures are worth a thousand words, check this bad boy out!
The next pizza is their classic pepperoni which is a single crust style pizza. So, so good!
They also offer “Peroni” Italian beer on tap. A perfect compliment to this amazing Italian food feast!
Now for dessert. I am sure you are asking how on earth can you eat anything else? Well, I guess my answer would be where there is a will there is a way! 🙂 Homemade cheesecake and espresso were our selections for this evening. The perfect ending to an amazing meal! I think we each gained 10 pounds while eating here! 🙂
You can find Oley’s Pizza at 10910 US Highway 24 W, Fort Wayne, IN. If you are a pizza lover like me, you will love Oley’s Pizza.
Yummi Bunni
Now I want to tell you about Yummi Bunni. This is a really cool place! Literally a cool place because it is an ice cream shop. The thing that makes Yummi Bunni so unique from other ice cream shops is that their specialty is ice cream sandwiches. And…the sandwich part is a donut! So, you are getting ice cream and a donut in an awesome dessert! How awesome is this?
The Yummi Bunni is located at 123 W Main St, Fort Wayne, IN. This is a “must try” place if you are ever in the Fort Wayne area!
Where to eat in Fort Wayne is a hot topic if you are going there on vacation. These are just a few of our favorite eateries that we visited while on our anniversary road trip to Fort Wayne, IN. I hope we didn’t make you too hungry! 🙂
