With fall having arrived and winter close on its heels, there is nothing like a hot, delicious beverage to sip. There is something so cozy and comforting about wassil. Sydney and I both are always cold, and we love getting all warm and toasty with something hot to drink. This wassil recipe definitely warms us up!
The spices are what makes this wassil so amazing! Cinnamon, allspice and cloves blend together in perfect harmony to give this wassil the most wonderful and magical flavor!
So Versatile…
This recipe is from a family friend We have tweaked it over the years to get it to what we believe is true perfection! We use a whole gallon of apple cider. Some people like a combination of apple cider, orange juice and cranberry juice. Some people use apple juice instead of apple cider. This is one of those recipes that you make to suit your own taste buds. We like ours pretty sweet and love adding in brown sugar for a hint of maple goodness. You might like just adding in white sugar and no brown sugar. Maybe you are not a huge sweet fan, just add in a tiny bit of sugar. There is no right or wrong way to make this recipe. The important thing is that you make it! 🙂

The great thing about this recipe is that you can cook it on the stove or in a crock pot. Perfect for coming home to after a cold weather football game or snowy winter activities. The smells in your house are truly amazing after this has simmered for awhile!
