This was something new and completely different for us. We have never made our own candles before so this was really neat and fun! The Candle Lab did not disappoint at all. We had a great time!

The Candle Lab Process
The first thing you do upon arriving at The Candle Lab is take your clipboard and scent sheet and go around and smell all the different candles. You write down the ones that smell good to you. Check out all these different scents you can choose from! 🙂
The next step is to pick out the container you would like to hold your candle.
Maybe you would prefer to make a home or beauty fragrance product instead of a candle. You can do this also!
Finally, after all the decisions have been made as to your favorite scents and containers, you take your clipboard and chosen container to the bar.
Mimosa Anyone?
If you would like to have a drink, The Candle Lab (certain locations) has several to choose from. Sydney and I both had the Mimosas. So yummy!!
Now, as you are enjoying your drink, you begin combining scents to get the perfect fragrance. Fortunately, you do not have to do this alone! One of the super nice candle artists will assist you in which ones will combine well and also make suggestions to you. This was so helpful as there were so many possible combinations. They have you narrow the choice down to three scents that will make up your own unique candle.
It’s Candle Making Time!
Sydney went with Mango, Honey Crisp and Champagne. I chose Sea Breeze, Mango and Coconut. Apparently, I was in a beachy mood! 🙂 Must have been the first real warm weather that we had that made me choose these scents. You alternate putting the oils into the little dish by how strong of a certain scent you want to come out of your blend. Do you want them all equal or do you want one to stand out a little more? You put some in and just keep smelling until you get the perfect combination of scents! There is no right or wrong scent, just what smells good to you!
Next, the oils you chose are combined into the container you chose with gourmet soy wax to produce an amazing smelling candle.
Ta-dah! Our Finished Candle
This was so much fun! Perfect for girls night out, bachelorette party, mom and daughter time or really just any excuse you can come up with because it is such a neat and unique thing to do.
There are several locations of The Candle Lab in Columbus and Cincinnati, OH and also one in Pittsburgh, PA. Sydney and I went to the Grandview location in Columbus. If you are ever in one of these areas you have to stop at The Candle Lab. To make it more fun, bring some friends. I promise lots of smelling, creating and laughing! 🙂
