When Easter rolls around we are always excited. We are so tired of all the cold temperatures, snow and ice. Green is on the horizon…green grass, trees and bushes. Warmer temps and more daylight are equally as nice. And so is this Easter Bark recipe!
We also love all the pastel colors that come with Easter. Soft pink, yellow, mint green and robin egg blue make the season feel near. These soft colors are so nice after a long, dark winter.
Cooking and baking also take a different turn around Easter. We cook and bake more fruit dishes, grilling, refrigerated pies and salads. Lighter fair can be enjoyed now that it is warming up outside.
White Chocolate Love
We always try and make a new dessert or two around Easter. This year we made Easter Bark. We fell in love with the beautiful look of this bark as much as we did the wonderful taste. White chocolate abounds in this great dessert. Ever since I can remember, there was always a white chocolate bunny in my Easter basket. My love for white chocolate stems from my childhood Easter basket.
Easter Bark Defrost Setting
One tip we would like to share with you is to melt the white chocolate on the defrost setting of your microwave. Using the defrost setting keeps the white chocolate from scorching. You don’t want to melt it on too high of heat because it will definitely scorch.
Don’t Loose Your Goodies!
Another tip is to press the M&M’s and sprinkles gently into the white chocolate after it is melted and spread in the baking sheet. Pressing the M&M’s and sprinkles into the melted white chocolate keeps them from falling off when you starting breaking the bark into pieces.
A Pot Holder Is Your Friend
After the bark has set up use a large chef knife to break the bark into pieces. Place a pot holder over the top of the knife before cutting into the bark. This will keep the top of the knife from digging into your palm as you are cutting the bark.
Little ones will love dropping the M&M’s and sprinkles onto the melted white chocolate for this Easter Bark recipe. It is a lot of fun for them to see their design unfold.
This bark is great for gift giving. After you break it up, place some in a cute container to give away. Put some in an Easter basket and give to a coworker or neighbor. There are so many fun ideas for gift giving with this pretty Easter Bark.
The inspiration for this Easter Bark came from Lil’ Luna. Thanks so much for the great idea!
