Austin and I committed to each other, when we got married a couple of years ago, to make sure and get away from the stresses of everyday life once in awhile. We have been so busy with work and renovating our first house that we decided it was time to enjoy a nice weekend away. We are both so glad we did because we had a wonderful stay at the Orchard House Bed and Breakfast!

What an amazing bed and breakfast the Orchard House is. We couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect setting! It was snowy and cold and the Orchard House was so inviting and warm. This was truly the romantic getaway that we both needed. It was so nice to relax and unwind and just enjoy each other’s company.
The Orchard House Bed and Breakfast is located at 4058 Columbus Rd, Granville, OH 43023. It sits on 12 acres outside of Granville, Ohio just minutes from Newark and New Albany and 35 minutes from downtown Columbus.
There are several rooms to choose from for your stay. Whether you like a lighter, airy feel or a darker cozier feel this bed and breakfast has a room that you will love.
The Charlotte Waters Lee Room
The huge canopy on this bed is gorgeous! It feels even more regal in person. And you cannot miss the luxury, en-suite bathroom overlooking the courtyard.

The John Daley Room
This beautiful room has the queen bed as the focal point. The John Daley room brings a modern feel to the Orchard House Bed & Breakfast.

The Carriage House
This is the newest addition to the Orchard House Bed & Breakfast. Separate from the main house, you enter through beautiful French doors off of the courtyard. The Carriage House gives you that little extra space.

The Job Paige Suite
Austin and I stayed in this beautiful suite. We loved the coziness of the room with the cold temperatures and snow outside. We were all comfy and snuggled in. This room also had a little reading nook which was so neat.

We loved looking out this window at the snowy scene. The ivy climbing up the window added such charm to our visit. It was just beautiful!

Orchard House Bed & Breakfast History
We were able to get a little history on this charming bed and breakfast. The Orchard House was built in 1850 by Job Paige and his family. The main manor is a classic, brick Italianate. The property has passed through numerous hands over the years. Dean Lowry is the owner and innkeeper of this beautiful bed and breakfast.
Dean is the most gracious host! He is a wealth of knowledge about the bed and breakfast, the history of the area and a huge supporter of shop local.
If you are wanting conversation or to join in with other guests there are different sitting areas where you can visit or play a board game. Dean truly has thought of everything to make your stay very comfortable.

Included in your stay is wine and cheese hour which is served nightly around 5:30 pm. Available day and night is complimentary tea, coffee, soft drinks, water, snacks and delicious home baked treats.
Breakfast Time!
Now, let’s talk about the amazing breakfast experience! We had the most delicious Dutch Baby Pancakes and locally sourced sausage patties and eggs that you can imagine. Dean explained that the eggs were actually fresh from the farm that morning! The food literally melted in your mouth. And the view as we ate breakfast was like no other! It was like being in a winter wonderland. I don’t know how Dean gets his guests to leave when it is time to go. 🙂

Some of the ingredients for their food come from their own farm and gardens and other items come from local sources. Dean told us that they love to hilight products from neighboring Ohio businesses. We love when local businesses support each other and the community, as a whole, supports the local businesses. Nothing says “Small Town Living” as much as this does.

There is so much to do in the Granville, Ohio area. You can go exploring in the local village and buy local, get a massage, do some shopping and have dinner at one of the local restaurants. One can also go into downtown Columbus for a ton of different activities.

What a charming place. I love the touches of history throughout. Looks like a wonderful place to get away.
Looks like such a great stay! That reading nook is to die for! Your photos are great–I’m still learning to use my fancy camera and these are inspirational.
Thank you. 🙂 Fancy cameras are definitely intimidating, but after you get used to them they are worth it!
