We have a fun, easy and delicious recipe to share with you today. For those of you who love to cook, bake and create recipes you understand when Sydney and I talk about how much fun it is to create a recipe! It is one of our very favorite things to do…aside from eating our creations, of course! The creation we are sharing with you today was inspired by Grown In Idaho Super Crispy Crinkle Cut Fries and Grown in Idaho Crispy Potato Puffs. Look at this mouth-watering masterpiece below…the Loaded Nacho Fries!
How To Construct Your Loaded Nacho Fries
This was such a fun recipe to create because the ideas and toppings were truly endless to choose from. We started with Grown in Idaho Super Crispy Crinkle Cut Fries that we arranged on the outer circle of our cast iron skillet. In the center of the circle we placed the Grown In Idaho Crispy Potato Puffs. These are the base and bottom layer of our recipe. We baked them until the were golden brown and crispy.
Then we piled on cheddar cheese, leftover shredded beef (from a pot roast earlier in the week), jalapeños and black olives. We baked until the cheese was good and melted and the toppings were nice and hot. Then we added on the tomatoes, green onions and sour cream.
We love these Grown in Idaho Products because, as everyone knows, food always tastes best when made with real and quality ingredients. They are 100% grown in Idaho! The french fries have a super crispy outside, which is awesome because they had tons of ingredients piled on them and did not get soggy. The insides were full of tender and fluffy potatoes. The perfect combination inside and out which give them a real Idaho potato taste!
These potatoes are sold at your local Kroger stores. Check them out in the potato aisle! For a limited time you can SAVE $1.00 on ONE (1) Grown in Idaho Product at Kroger stores with digital coupon. While supplies last.
Change It Up
This is one of those recipes that you can change around to your liking. Maybe you want all fries or all potato puffs. Maybe you want yours meatless or want to use ground beef with taco seasoning. If you don’t like jalapeños, just swap them out for another ingredient. If you like our ingredients and toppings but you want more or less of one…go for it, use more or less! You can’t make this recipe incorrectly. The only mistake you can make is not to make it!
This Loaded Nacho Fries recipe is also great for those busy week night meals or a quick lunch. You can have all the toppings chopped up and in containers in the fridge ready to go. You can do what we did and use left over roast or maybe left over taco meat. This makes it so easy. While the french fries and potato puffs are baking you can get out the ingredients and set the table. After those are nice and crispy add the toppings you want baked. While that is baking get the drinks ready. Remove the cast iron skillet from the oven and add the cold toppings and you are ready to go. Quick and easy, but most importantly delicious!
Loaded Nacho Fries are also a lot of fun for little ones to help top with the chopped up ingredients. I can remember when Sydney and Mason were little and how much they liked “to help.” This is a great one for little helpers.
