Sydney and I are always up for a foodie and adventure road trip. We had such a great time finding new places to eat and fun things to do in Louisville, Kentucky. Here is a collection of our favorite Louisville restaurants.
Louisville is full of great places to eat. We seriously could keep going back and back just to try all the different and amazing restaurants that this delicious city has to offer.
For our first Louisville foodie trip we found several great places to eat that we want to share with you today. Without further ado…our favorite Louisville restaurants!
Wild Eggs
We are constantly being told breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well…let me tell you that Wild Eggs believes this to be true based on the attention to detail they give to all of their dishes. We had a scrumptious breakfast at Wild Eggs located at 3985 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY. The service and food was top notch!
Breakfast Is Served!
This Kalamity Katie’s Border Benedict was absolutely delicious! It has a touch of a spicy Southwest twist to it, not too much but just enough. Pure perfection! Green chili, cheddar corn cakes (topped with chorizo), two poached eggs, pico de gallo, queso fundido, sour cream, avocado and green onions make up this delicious creation. It is served with skillet potatoes and their famous Everything Muffin.

Being the foodies that we are Sydney and I were amazed at the little details that we picked up on. The blueberry muffin had a faint hint of lemon and sugar crystals on the top added a slight crunch. They even ask you if you would like your bacon chewy or crispy. Wow, that has never happened to us before and believe me when I say that Sydney and I eat out a lot! Everything from the dinnerware and linens to the perfect combination of seasonings make up these amazing little added touches and details. They wouldn’t have to do these but they choose to. That is what makes a great restaurant stand out!

We will most definitely be going back here again and again. It was truly that good! Fortunately for us they have 16 different locations in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and Indiana. Yay, so glad! You really need to get to a Wild Eggs as soon as you can. It is worth the drive from just about anywhere!
For those of you who have been following us for quite some time know how much Sydney and I love pizza. Any place, any kind and anywhere is our motto!
BoomBozz Craft Pizza & Taphouse
BoomBozz at 1890 S Hurstbourne Pkwy has some of the best pizza we have ever had, and we have had a ton of pizza! Just saying 🙂 Their menu is extensive.
First up was a couple of their appetizers. We had their Soft Pretzels (Bavarian Pretzel served with their House Made Beer Cheese Queso) and their Boom Boom Wings (a mix of dry rubbed and marinated wings in BoomBozz’s Special House Blend, served with celery and House Buttermilk Ranch dipping sauces). We could have seriously just made a meal out of these two appetizers. They were so good!

Fortunately for you and for us, we didn’t stop at the appetizers. Seriously, who could go to a pizza place and not get pizza? Most definitely not us! We ordered the Tony’s Supremo and the Create Your Own Pie (double pepperoni). Both of these were beyond delicious!

BoomBozz was established in 1998 and has 11 total locations. Their Pollotate Pizza won the International Pizza of the Year in 2017. Pretty impressive! BoomBozz was featured on The Food Network as the Best Pizza in America! Once again, pretty impressive! We are telling you guys that this is a must try pizza place! Add it to your bucket list today!
Liege & Dairy
Now it is time to address our sweet tooth. What would a foodie trip be without some ice cream? For us, it would be an incomplete trip! Our favorite Louisville restaurants list just had to have ice cream included! To make the ice cream even better Liege & Dairy serves their delicious ice cream on Liege Waffles! That’s right, ice cream and Liege Waffles in one sweet treat. We are now pleased to introduce to you the Waffle Sundae. How amazing is this?
The A Fav
First up is Andrew’s Favorite (The A Fav). Andrew’s Favorite is a Liege Waffle topped with Motherload Ice Cream, Honey Whip, Oreo Cookie Butter and hot fudge. Oh my goodness…it is pure heaven on earth! Look at all of this deliciousness in one dessert!

Peanut Butter Blast
Calling all peanut butter lovers for this next one. The Peanut Butter Blast is a Liege Waffle topped with Cheer Up Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream, chocolate mousse, peanut butter cup pieces and peanut butter drizzle. If you love peanut butter then this one is for you!

Cheesecake Double Take
Finally, comes the Cheesecake Double Take. I know, how could we eat all of this? It was hard, but someone had to do it! The Cheesecake Double Take is a Liege Waffle topped with Say Cheesecake Ice Cream, cheesecake mousse, strawberries and hot fudge. Wow, so amazing!

You seriously can’t go wrong with anything you order at Liege & Dairy. Their first of two locations opened in April of 2018. They also have a food truck that you can have come for your personal or corporate events. How fun would it be to serve these amazing goodies to your family, friends, or employees? I think you would be their new favorite person!
We visited the Liege & Dairy located at 12003 Shelbyville Rd #106, Louisville, KY. If you are ever in the Louisville area you will definitely want to make a stop here and enjoy a Waffle Sundae or two!
Gustavo’s Mexican Grill
Right up there at the top of the list with pizza is Mexican food for us. Trying new Mexican restaurants is always so much fun. We are here to tell you that we found one of the best Mexican restaurants we have ever eaten at! Gustavo’s Mexican Grill, located at 6051 Timber Ridge Dr, Prospect, KY, is absolutely amazing! The landscaping and building were just gorgeous! The food was off the chart delicious! We can’t say enough about how amazing the atmosphere, food, and service was!
We started, of course, with their chips and salsa. Their chips were so warm and delicious.

I had a combination platter and Sydney had the chicken fajitas. We cannot begin to tell you how amazing our food was. Seriously, you just need to make a trip here and see for yourself.

They also have the most amazing desserts. Check out their Churros and Fried Ice Cream. Wow!

Gustavo’s Mexican Grill is a Mexican-food-lovers dream come true. They opened their first restaurant in 2010 and now have 3 locations in the Louisville area.
Zeggz
Last, but most certainly not least, is Zeggz to wrap up our favorite Louisville restaurants list. This was our last restaurant before heading home and one of the most delicious ones. They truly have a delicious breakfast here with tons of options to choose from.
Sydney and I decided to go out with a bang and ordered several different things that we shared. Everything we had was excellent!
We sampled their Zeggz Special (eggs, meat, potatoes and bread of your choice), the chocolate chip pancake, french toast with strawberries, cinnamon roll, hot chocolate and a biscuit. Check out all of this food we had at Zeggz!

Zeggz is located at 11615 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY. It was the perfect breakfast to start our trek home. We highly recommend a stop at Zeggz if you are ever in the area!
As you can see we didn’t begin to skim the surface of amazing places to eat in Louisville. This just means that we will have to visit this great city again and add to our favorite Louisville restaurants list!
Curious about where we stayed? Check out Progress Park, a really unique place to stay during your trip to Louisville! We really enjoyed our stay here. 🙂 We also got to visit some really neat Louisville attractions!
Have an awesome day and visit Louisville, KY for some great food!
This all looks so good. I feel like my eyes just went on an amazing food adventure looking at all these pictures. Now if only they could invent scratch and sniff internet, then I could appreciate the food even more, haha.
What a brilliant idea! We know several foodies who would definitely be excited over that invention! 🙂
