As you all know by now, Sydney and I are huge foodies. Whether we are cooking and baking at home or out exploring new restaurants and visiting old favorites, we love food and love to eat! We are going to talk about just a few of our favorite Columbus restaurants. Columbus, OH has so many good restaurants that we couldn’t begin to fit them all in one article. So for the ease of your eyes and being considerate of your time, we will just talk about a small handful today.
Even though Sydney and I love living in a small town, we equally love visiting larger cities and discovering all the good foodie places available.
Belgian Iron Wafel Company
We will start with a great breakfast place since breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day! We had breakfast at Belgian Iron Wafel Company. Wow! What a neat place! Not only was the food amazing, but the atmosphere was so cool!
Warning: These photos may make your mouth water and cause grumbling tummies. 🙂

Aimee and Brandon are a husband and wife team who opened Belgian Iron Wafel Company on January 12, 2019. You can find them at 19 W Russell St, Columbus, Ohio.

They offer the Flights, which allows you to order 3 different waffles of your choice. Such a neat idea so you can sample a few different ones. They have a great selection of sweet and savory waffles for your eating pleasure.

My favorite was the Lemon Creme & Berries with a side of their amazing Spinach Quinoa Hash Browns. Sydney ended up choosing their Chicken and Original Waffles as her personal favorite. It was so hard to choose a favorite because everything we tried was so delicious!

El Rodeo
If you like Mexican food then you will most definitely love El Rodeo. They have one of the best lunch buffets we have ever seen. If menu ordering is your thing, then you will find tons of scrumptious options to enjoy also! El Rodeo can be found at 3133 Stelzer Rd, Columbus, Ohio.

Daniel, the owner of El Rodeo, said their best selling items are their fajitas and chimichangas. Their table side guacamole is a huge hit also with their customers. This guacamole is now one of my top personal favorites. Oh my goodness, it is so good!

Whether burritos, tacos, or fajitas are your thing, you will most definitely find plenty that you love to eat. Just look at all this deliciousness! 🙂

Johnson’s Real Ice Cream
What do you say we take a little break from meals and have some ice cream? It is time for a snack or dessert, whichever works for you best. We had some amazing ice cream from Johnson’s Real Ice Cream. Naturally, they were added to our favorite Columbus restaurants list! If you are ever in the Columbus area you really need to put this ice cream shop on your “must stop” list. Tons of options and great taste can be found here.
They have several locations; we went to their main location at 2728 E Main St, Bexley, Ohio. Christopher is the general manager of this store and was so helpful with information and selection.
Johnson’s Real Ice Cream was established in 1950 and they have four stores. Their top 3 ice cream sellers are their Salty Caramel Chocolate Pretzel, Buckeye Fever and Cookies & Cream. Christopher said his personal favorite is their Blueberry Pie.
Sydney had the Cookies & Cream in a waffle cone and I had their Fudgy Dessert. Both were amazing (of course we had to taste test each others!).

They also make their own specialty ice cream cakes and have an extensive lunch menu. Pictured below is an ice cream cake and their pot roast sandwich. Whether you want lunch, dessert or something to take home for a special occasion, Johnson’s Real Ice Cream has you covered.

The Half Pint
Now to get back to a couple more of our favorite Columbus restaurants. Next we are bringing to you The Half Pint. This place is so much fun! They have a really awesome atmosphere and some great food options.
The Half Pint is located at 671 High St, Worthington, Ohio. They have three Ohio locations and one location in Indiana and another in Colorado. They are known for their famous Whiskey Wednesdays where customers can get a $2.00 shot.
You will find 40 drafts on tap at The Half Pint. They showcase a brewery of the month and hold events with the brewery. How cool is this?

Their best sellers are the Cheese Curds, PBB&J Burger, Swiss & Thyme Burger and the Topless Salad. How can you choose?! You truly can’t go wrong ordering any of them!

Flyers Pizza & Subs
What foodie article would be complete without some pizza? Absolutely none! 🙂
The pizza place that made the favorite Columbus restaurants list for us to tell you about today is Flyers Pizza & Subs. They have eight different restaurants that are located on the outer belt of Columbus. We went to their original location at 121 W Main St, West Jefferson, Ohio which was established in 1976.
Now, this really tells you something about the company…the general manager, of this location, has been with them for 22 years. That is amazing! This is obviously a company that takes great care of their employees and from the service we received they seem to take great care of their customers as well.

The top pizza sellers for this location are The Bomber, Old World Pepperoni and Meatza Pizza. The best sellers for appetizers are their Cheddar Bacon Fries and their wings.

Sydney and I decided on the Build Your Own Sampler for our appetizer. We chose the Mozzarella Stix, Pizza Bombs and Chicken Tenders. For our pizzas we went with two of their best sellers. The Bomber (cheese, pepperoni, sausage, ham, salami, onion, mushroom and green pepper) and the Old World Pepperoni. Boy did the appetizers and pizzas deliver!

We hope you enjoyed seeing a tiny few of some of our favorite Columbus restaurants. If you are ever in the area you will want to make sure and check out a few, or if time allows all, of these amazing restaurants. If you do we would love to know what you think!
You are definitely going to want to see where we stayed at for this overnight foodie trip…Granville Inn.
