Oh my goodness! Sydney and I had such an amazing stay at Cherry Ridge Retreat in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio. We have always been fans of bed & breakfasts and inns, and now we can add luxury cabins to our list of favorite places to stay.

Water’s Edge Cabin
We stayed in the Water’s Edge Cabin. It was so nice! It has two bedrooms, family room, kitchen and bathroom. Water’s Edge Cabin is perfect for 2 to 4 people. When we arrived soft music was playing and it just made opening the front door so welcoming and inviting. It was a very nice touch!

Outdoor Amenities
We had our own private hot tub, hammock, and fire pit area. These were all perfect for evening unwinding and relaxing. We seriously did not want to leave when our stay was up.

Inside A Cabin At Cherry Ridge Retreat
The family room is perfect for hanging out in. The large picture window looks down toward the fire pit area and pond. The view was spectacular! A large stone fireplace completes the family room. We were talking about how breathtaking it would be to stay here in the winter. The view of the snow falling along with a fire going in the stone fireplace would be pure heaven! We may have to come back just to experience this. 🙂

There are two bedrooms. One is upstairs and the other one is downstairs. Very nice if you come with another couple or bring your little ones with you. Both of the bedrooms were quite spacious.

Cooking Time
The kitchen was so nice with full size appliances. Since Sydney and I were doing a restaurant article of places to eat in the area, we didn’t make use of the kitchen, gas propane grill, or cooking over the open fire. Just one more reason to come back for another stay….to do some outdoor recipe creations. How much fun would that be? Most definitely sounds awesome to us!

Perfect Place To Relax
During our trip to Hocking Hills we had a lot of rain and flooding. It was disappointing on one hand but on the other hand it allowed for some downtime that we were not expecting. We spent time on the front porch reading and getting some blog work done as the rain fell. It was so relaxing to just sit outside and listen to the rain. We slowed down enough to truly enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, which we haven’t done in a long time!
We also had our own private cabana with a hot tub. Our hot tub would have easily accommodated 4 people. It was pure perfection!
Outdoor Fun
Along with the hiking we managed to fit in around the rain in the Hocking Hills State Park, we also got in a little bit of hiking right here at Cherry Ridge Retreat. The cabins (I hesitate to call them that because they are all so very nice, maybe cottages would be a better description) are situated on 140 acres of private forested land. There are only 8 cabins/cottages at Cherry Ridge Retreat, so this allows for a great deal of privacy and seclusion. There are miles of serene wooded trails to hike and explore right here, without ever getting in your car and leaving.
We saw many, many deer while exploring here. We both have to say that our very favorite discovery was a wild turkey momma with 6 or 7 little ones. They were so much fun to watch! We even had binoculars supplied in the cabin to take with us and get a close up view of Mother Nature. Another nice added touch!
Gazebo Area
If you decide to come with friends or other families there is a gazebo area beside a pond that is so neat and perfect for gathering together at. There is a 25 foot bar that is under cover with ceiling fans and has seating to have an intimate visit with other friends and family. There is also an adjoining deck that is perfect for small groups. This area overlooks a beautiful pond and is so peaceful and tranquil.

There are 4 luxury and 4 romantic cabins to choose from at Cherry Ridge Retreat. Whether you want a place for 2 or you need a place for 8 they have you covered here! It is truly the perfect home away from home!
They hold very small weddings, family getaways, corporate events and even recently were involved in a surprise proposal on site. Cherry Ridge Retreat has been in operation for the past 15 years. Fall is their busiest season of the year, as you would probably expect, due to all the trees changing colors.

Brick Street Inn
The Charlotte
We had a wonderful stay here and encourage you to visit the Hocking Hills area and to spend a night (or even a week) at Cherry Ridge Retreat. We promise you will be so glad you did!
Could not agree more! Can’t wait to stay there again soon!
