We had a really nice visit at Lunch at 4 W Main in Troy, OH. It sounds like this would be a great place to have lunch, but there is so much more to this establishment than just lunch! The whole concept of what they offer is so intriguing! Lunch at 4 W Main is a pop-up lunch spot and satellite kitchen. How unique!
Lunch at 4 W Main just recently opened on February 1st, 2018. Jessica Minesinger and Karen Boone are the owners and we had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Karen. She was such a pleasure to speak with. You could feel all the creativity pouring out of her!
Each day of the week brings a different food truck or other vendor in to use the space. These vendors offer a delicious lunch in downtown Troy. Karen was explaining that there are not a lot of options for lunch in the downtown area. She said this helped to fill a void for lunchtime options. There are around 100 small businesses in the downtown area within a 5-10 minute walk to the new lunch spot.
The thing that is really neat is that it is like getting several new restaurants rolled into one. Since each day of the week brings a new vendor, patrons never tire of the same food. How exciting is this?
The day Sydney and I were there Tin Roof Mobile was serving lunch. They offered 5 different sandwiches that came with a side and potato chips. They also had a salad and soup option. Dessert was not forgotten (this is very important for us sweet lovers!). A brownie or peanut butter pie were the choices on this day. The thing that I think we found the most amazing was that it was pouring rain outside and people just kept coming in. There was a steady flow of lunch goers that came and went. The weather didn’t stop them! This was a testament to the need for this type of a business and the great food that Tin Roof Mobile had to offer!
Mo’s Barbeque, Tin Roof Mobile, TK’s BBQ-N-Fixins, Bob Evans Catering, and Chick-fil-A Catering are among some of the popular vendors that serve lunch here. As the concept catches on I am sure you will find this list growing and growing. What a novel idea!
At non-lunch hours you may find some pop-up shops offering their delicious goodies. Michelle’s Macarons and Poppin’ Off are just a couple examples of some tasty treats you can find at Lunch at 4 W Main.
The interior of the building is so neat! When it was being renovated the contractors exposed a large brick wall. We fell in love with it! The hardwood floors and lighting complete the chic interior. The decor items were hand chosen and look like they were made specifically for this space.
On a Saturday or Sunday you may find places like Miller Flowers Greenhouse & Florist offering a class or workshop. So much fun!
You can rent the space at Lunch at 4 W Main for your own private party or event. The place has been rented out for bridal showers, baby showers, business dinners, and meet & greets. They have some graduation parties already on the schedule for May and June. You can rent the space for $50.00/hr. You are welcome to use the warmers, refrigerator, and other appliances for your event or party. So nice and handy!
We asked Karen what the scariest part of this endeavor was for them and she said that there were a lot of unknowns. They spent a lot of time educating themselves on the health department side of things, as well as the food service side. It looks like their education paid off!
About 50% of the orders are carry out. Many patrons only get 30 minutes for lunch so they come in and get their lunch to take back to work with them. You can pre-order your lunch also. This is perfect for a larger group!
If you haven’t been to Lunch at 4 W Main you are truly missing out on a neat experience! They can be found at, you guessed it, 4 W Main St, Troy, OH! 🙂 They serve lunch Mondays – Fridays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm or until the food runs out!
Go and enjoy a great lunch today!
Genius!
