Even though Tulsa, OK isn’t what many would consider small town, it has a lot of small businesses. We love featuring small businesses that sometimes get swallowed up by all the size and busyness of a larger town! There is most definitely a place for big stores and companies, but there is also a place for small stores and companies. So, on that note, let me introduce you to Decopolis.
William Franklin is the owner of Decopolis and established the store about 5 1/2 years ago in Jenks, OK. William explained that the concept of the store is to support local artists. It is the most eclectic group of items we have ever seen that works together perfectly. This store literally has something for everyone! Young and old alike will find something they love about Decopolis. One thing you will notice after spending a few minutes in the store is that Disney and movie songs are the only things playing in the store. So cool! We loved this!
Maybe books and stationery are your heart’s desire. You can find a really nice selection here.
Maybe collecting Tulsa memorabilia or a souvenir item to take back home with you is what you are looking for. They have you covered. This area is the second best selling area in the store.
Maybe jewelry or coffee (always!) is your thing. You will find these at Decopolis also.
When I said they have something for everyone I was being serious! It is just such a fun and neat store. You could browse for hours here.
Check out these wooden bow ties! They are so neat!
William said their best selling items are their children’s books and toys. The whole upstairs loft is dedicated to things that children love. It is a dream come true for a younger child!
William said that he got this inspiration for the store from his years of painting murals, props and displays. He has done work world wide and has done several projects for Disney. Pretty impressive!
You can do more than just shop and hang out here. You can have a birthday or painting party here. They also offer painting and drawing classes. They have so much to offer. If you are ever in Tulsa, you will want to check Decopolis out. They are located at 502 S Boston Ave, Tulsa OK.
Another place you will not want to miss out on is Pancho Anaya Mexican Bakery. They have three locations in Tulsa for your convenience. The bakery was established in 1912 in Mexico and was brought to the United States twenty-one years ago. The original bakery in Mexico is still operating and going strong. This is a 5th generation bakery! It is easy to see why they have to have three locations!
Pancho Anaya takes pride in tradition. You can taste the tradition and authenticity in everything they bake. They have over 50 different recipes and everything is baked fresh every single day!
Mexican bread brings families together. There is a history in Mexico of sitting at the dinner table together and sharing bread with meals. Heritage and tradition is very important in Mexico. We love sitting down together for a meal as a family!
The baked goods in this store just go on and on! Look at all this deliciousness. Seriously, who can resist such beautiful and perfectly baked goodies!
Pancho Anaya has about 70 employees between the 3 different locations. They make thousands of their baked goods each month. Repeat customers come all the way from Chicago to stock up on their baked items. They will freeze them and then when they run out they will make another trip to Oklahoma for more. If this isn’t the best testimony to Pancho Anaya I don’t know what is! Pancho Anaya bakes and ships to companies in Texas and Iowa.
If you are ever in the area you will most definitely want to stop in and try some of their baked goods for yourself. You may want to take some home and put in the freezer also! 🙂
Have a great day!
