Sydney and I got to go Behind the Scenes with Benny’s Pizza. If you love pizza like we do, then you have to check out Benny’s Pizza in Marysville, OH.
Fred and Robin Neumeier opened the establishment in January 1996. Benny’s Pizza used to be an old root beer stand. Fred and Robin have continued to keep the outside looking like a root beer stand. So neat!
Victoria is the general manager of Benny’s and was kind enough to take time out of her super busy day to sit down and chat with us for a bit. The day we were there she was being pulled in several different directions at once!
Once you are seated you are served fresh popped popcorn. This gives you something to munch on while you wait for your appetizers and pizza or meals. It tasted so good!
Victoria said they pop on average 250 pounds of kernels every week. That is a bunch of popcorn!
They serve between 3,000 and 4,000 customers per week. No wonder they need so much popcorn! We asked Victoria what made Benny’s Pizza so successful. She said that it is family oriented, has fantastic food, and is a fun place to hang out.
Their most popular appetizer is their Signature Hickory Smoked Chicken Wings. They slow smoke them. They are never fried. Their second most popular appetizer is their Baked Spinach Dip. Their house-made creamy baked spinach dip is topped with provolone, feta and parmesan cheeses. The dip is served with tortilla chips, pita bread wedges and crackers.
Sydney and I order a pepperoni pizza with Italian sausage on half of it. It was so delicious! The sauce had just a slight touch of sweetness to it. The sausage had a tiny kick to it. The combination was perfection!
Look at all these pepperonis! We didn’t order extra pepperoni. This is how it came. Love a pizza place that knows how to top a pizza! No skimping here. There was also plenty of cheese. So good!
The All the Way Pizza is their most popular pizza. It comes topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and banana peppers. Victoria’s personal favorite is The Garbage Pizza. This comes topped with Pepperoni, Italian sausage, spicy smoked sausage, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, ham, tomatoes, black olives, green olives, bacon, pineapple, banana peppers, jalapeno peppers and provolone cheese. Wow! That is a lot of ingredients!
Below is a picture of a their personal size Veggie Pizza. It comes topped with muchrooms, onions, green peppers, banana peppers, tomatoes and provolone cheese.
What do you think of this taco pizza? Looks amazing!
If quesadillas are your thing, then you will want to give this a try! They offer chicken, cheese or bbq brisket quesadillas. Yum!
Let’s take a break from the food for a moment and talk about drinks. You are probably getting pretty thirsty at this point. You can have water like Sydney and I did (we were being good since it was lunch time).
If water isn’t your thing, you are in luck. They have over 30 different beers on tap and offer 10 different wines. They have several signature drinks, including Benny’s Hard Rootbeer Float. If you love rootbeer floats this is the drink for you. It contains Three Olives Vanilla Vodka, Benny’s house-made rootbeer and vanilla flavored Monster.
Take your drink outside during the summer and enjoy one of the many bands that perform at Benny’s Pizza. Tuesday through Saturday evenings you will find live entertainment outside.
Now we will get back to some more food! Benny’s Pizza has Meal Deals for lunch from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Since we were visiting at lunch we got to see a couple of these. The French Dip and the Italian are shown here for your viewing pleasure. 🙂
Not to be left out is the Gyro and the Stromboli. Are you getting hungry yet?
Benny’s Pizza is big on giving back to the community! Tuesday evenings from the beginning of May until the end of September is Bike Night. Bike Night is to help fund Hope Matters. Hope Matters is a special needs playground being built in Elger Park in Marysville. How awesome is this?
If carry out is more your thing, Benny’s Pizza has a separate building right next door. The carry out building has been open for almost 10 years. By adding the separate building it drastically reduced wait times in the main dining area.
Benny’s Pizza is located at 968 Columbus Ave, Marysville, OH 43040. If you have never tried Benny’s Pizza before you really have no idea what you are missing! The next time you are craving pizza…give them a try.
Have a great day!
